panorama

Fitzroy House, 37 Fitzroy Street, London, W1T 6DX
2:00 p.m. to 5:30 p.m., Sunday, February 2nd
(With a 30-minute period for Q&A from 5.30 p.m. – 6.00 p.m.)

Following on from Michael Eleftheriades’ popular panoramic seminars, we are pleased to announce the next Definitive Panoramic Photography Seminar, to be held on Sunday, February 2nd.

Panoramic Photography is one of the most complex photographic tasks, yet with the advent of digital it is becoming ever more popular. Its popularity is driving the development of new techniques and applications, which have considerably simplified the task. Michael will be looking at these new workflows, from choosing the right equipment, to acquisition, post-production and distribution of panoramic images and virtual reality scenes.

He will also be looking at how panoramic techniques can help in dealing with common photographic problems, such as shooting in tight spaces, shooting multiple shots without a wide-angle, shooting with shift lenses, or shooting wide views without specialised equipment.

While the focus will be on capturing the highest quality images, Michael will also be showing how panoramas can be acquired with the ever more popular compact system cameras as well as mobile phones.

By the end of the seminar attendees will have an understanding of the principles of panoramic photography, be able to choose the right equipment for acquisition, the best software for production and be aware of the options for final output, including printing and web delivery. Michael will also look at how Google has popularised the immersive experience with Google Maps, and how photographers can create and upload images to its services.

Attendees who register for this seminar will be provided with speaker’s notes and a panoramic fact-sheet. A prize draw will be held at the end of the seminar, the top prize of which will be a 360Precision Atome panoramic head worth nearly £300. The Atome is a popular lightweight and compact head, which is ideally suited to hiking, travel or backpacking.
