Nikon Owner London Group meeting: Beyond Visible Light with Simon Weir LRPS, Friday, April 27th 2012

On behalf of Mike Eleftheriades and the Nikon Owner London Group we are pleased to invite you to the next Nikon Owner (London Group) event Beyond Visible Light, Infrared Photography with Simon Weir LRPS. The event will be held on Friday, April 27th 2012 at Kensingtonrooms.

An acknowledged expert in the field, Simon will cover the history of IR, the physics of IR imaging, film vs. digital-based IR, acquisition with modified and unmodified cameras, camera modification and lens selection, the problems of focus and hot-spots, subject matter and typical workflows.

As well as showing many of his own striking infrared images, Simon will also be displaying the work of a number of infrared photographers from around the world.

It promises to be a great evening! Space is limited to 50 seats, so please book your places early to avoid disappointment.

About Simon Weir

Simon is a music, stage and editorial photographer with an intimate knowledge of flash and a passion for infrared photography. He has spoken at Nikon Owner events to great acclaim on the Siena Palio (90 Seconds to Victory), on Flash Photography (A Flash for Inspiration) and on Infrared Photography.

Simon has recently published a collection of more than 40 of his favourite infrared images as a book entitled “Beyond Visible Light” via the Blurb Bookstore. It is available in both hard-back and soft-cover, and can be viewed it at the following address: http://www.blurb.com/user/store/simonweir/

Location Information

This popular Kensington ’boutique’ hotel is located on the corner of Cromwell Road and Courtfield Gardens, within a short walk of Gloucester Road tube station (Piccadilly, District and Circle lines) and is also close to Victoria and Paddington mainline stations, all accessible via London Underground services or short taxi rides.

Metered parking is available near the entrance to the hotel – parking restrictions are in effect until 6.30pm. Kensingtonrooms is outside the Congestion Zone.

As on previous occasions, we would like to request a £5 contribution per person to cover the costs of the room.
