When the evening light finally drops so that even a Nikon camera struggles to cope, it’s time to go indoors and settle down to the post processing. And miss a whole world of moonlight, star trails and the Milky Way…
Nikon Owner South-East Group coordinator Paul Stillman is delighted to invite you to his next Nikon Owner Evening Webinar, ‘Nightscaping’ by Ollie Taylor, taking place on Wednesday, 24th March. ‘Nightscaping’, as Ollie Taylor will tell you, is different to ‘Astrophotography’. Remarkable results can be obtained with just a camera and lens, a tripod and cable release. Add an intervalometer and a star tracker later perhaps.
If you have ever tried this form of photography and become entangled in the technicalities, Paul Stillman has secured a rather special arrangement for you. Ollie has produced an extensive collection of tutorials with fieldwork videos, postproduction demonstrations and all the technical details explained. And after his presentation you will be provided with access to these digital files as part of the package, to allow you to practice, check results and steadily improve.
About Ollie Taylor
In 2010 Ollie was a landscape photographer. He went on a month long trip to Iceland and by the time he returned he was hooked on ‘nightscaping’, landscape astrophotography. He is now a full-time freelance professional, running trips and courses as well as publishing in many magazines and journals both here and abroad.
As part of his tuition he has prepared two comprehensive, digital Astrophotography Courses, for ‘Beginners’ and ‘Intermediate’. These include exposure and blending techniques, the moon and star trails right through to photographing the Milky Way. The second package covers exposure stacking, star tracking, panoramas and much more. These two courses are on sale for a combined price of £140.
The cost of this event will be £25 which, thanks to Ollie Taylor’s generosity, includes both of these tuition packs, downloaded and kept for future use. This is a remarkable opportunity, and if you have ever looked up into the night sky and wondered about the photographic potential, one not to be missed.
