Grays of Westminster Presents
An Evening With…
Paul Joynson-Hicks MBE
and
Simon Stafford
Fitzroy House, 37 Fitzroy Street, London W1T 6DX
6:30p.m. for 7:00p.m., Friday, 19th July 2013

Paul Joynson-Hicks harbours an exuberant passion for Africa, where he has lived and worked for the past twenty years as a professional photographer.

At the very heart and soul of his photography is his love of the continent and the sheer vibrancy of African life, which are reflected in his four published coffee table books that celebrate in photographs the drama of Tanzania, Uganda, the South Luangwa Valley in Zambia and Saadani National Park in southern Tanzania.

Originally from the United Kingdom, currently Paul lives in Tanzania from where he runs his commercial photography business Blue Mango Ltd.. Fluent in Swahili and with an insightful perception of local cultures, Paul has travelled far and wide throughout Africa with his cameras, producing strong, evocative images, many inspired by his enthusiastic interest in the continent’s wildlife, for a broad range of clients.

During this exclusive event, which promises to be a highly entertaining and enlightening evening, Paul will show a collection of his wildlife pictures sharing the tales behind them in a relaxed and engaging forum.

A seasoned wildlife photography safari leader, Paul will be only too willing to discuss the concepts and motivation that he draws upon, together with the photographic techniques that he employs to record his captivating images.

In addition to his photographic endeavours, Paul is a highly committed philanthropist who has established a number of very successful charitable and commercial organizations throughout the East African region, created to help make happier and more financially stable lives for some of the poorest people in the world. He was awarded an MBE in 2011 in recognition of this work.

Following the presentation, both Paul Joynson-Hicks and Simon Stafford will host a comprehensive Q&A session to answer your questions and discuss both choice of equipment and use of photographic techniques in wildlife photography.

The cost of the event will be a special price of £20 if you are a current Nikon Owner subscriber, and includes refreshments. To book, please email your full name, postal address, daytime mobile and landline, as well as your Nikon Owner username/subscription to me, Gillian Greenwood: gillian.greenwood@graysofwestminster.co.uk

If you are not currently a Nikon Owner subscriber, would you be kind enough to make a note of this in your email – in order to book a place at the event, you will be able to join or re-join Nikon Owner when we call you to formalise the booking.

Please note that it is essential that you reply by email rather than by telephone. There are limited places available, so do book as soon as you are able to in order to avoid disappointment.

Travelling to Fitzroy House, 37 Fitzroy Street, London W1T 6DX: the nearest underground station is Warren Street, but please do make sure that it is open – it is occasionally closed and if so, Goodge Street station is a good option.
