Long-standing Nikon Owner subscriber Michael Warren, who recently organized the inaugural meeting of the Nikon Owner East Anglian and Suffolk Group, would like to invite everyone to the next meeting of the group, which will take place on Saturday, 20th October. Attendees are invited to a photographic outing at Suffolk Wildlife Trust, Lackford Lakes, Bury St Edmunds, Suffolk. The outing will provide excellent photographic opportunities for both the landscape and wildlife photographer alike.
The area of Lackford Lakes lies beside the River Lark and has been created from former gravel pits. This reclaimed site is a diverse reserve with meadows, woodland, reed beds and streams, and is an excellent environment for wildfowl all year round, attracting a huge variety of birds. Passing birds of prey include the majestic osprey, whilst buzzard and sparrowhawk can be seen regularly. Tree sparrows are seen year round feeding from bird feeders and specially grown crops on the Reserve, and the otter has become a frequent visitor there.
