The North Midlands Nikon Owner Group Photographic Walk

Bradgate Country Park, Leicestershire
Saturday, 15th October

Following the success of the last two photo-outings at the Cromford Canal, Lumsdale in August and the Hathersage Moor & Padley Gorge Outing on September 10th, kindly organised by long-standing Nikon Owner subscribers, Pat and Mike Clarke, everyone is warmly invited to the next meeting of the Nikon Owner North Midlands Group.

The meeting, organised by Pat and Mike Clarke, will take place on Saturday, 15th October. The attendees are invited to an exciting photographic walk in the beautiful surroundings of Bradgate Country Park in Leicestershire amid the rich tones of the autumnal landscape, enabling the attendees to focus on photographing fallow and red deer, as well as the trees in their seasonal colours and the fungi prevalent at this time of the year.

You are most welcome to attend this photo-excursion by yourself or together with other family members, no matter where you live in the UK.

The postcode for the location opposite the entrance to the Country Park is LE6 0HB. It is suggested that everyone meets in the first car park on the right-hand side of the entrance road, as it is the largest parking area. There is a charge for the car park, and it may be best to wait until everyone arrives, before purchasing a ticket, so it can be decided how long the group will stay.

Time to meet: 11.00 a.m.
Anticipated finish time:
4.00 p.m.

As the car park is within easy reach of the photographic walk, people are at liberty to leave whenever it suits them. As usual, we suggest that you wear suitable walking apparel and you may find it useful to bring a tripod. You may also like to bring a packed lunch; alternatively there are cafes and inns in the village as well as a cafe and visitor centre within Bradgate Country Park.

Booking: IMPORTANT

Bradgate Country Park

This extensive area of parkland is well-known for its herds of fallow and red deer. The attractive valley of the River Lin runs through the park and it also contains the remains of an Elizabethan mansion, which provides yet another photo opportunity. There are many old oak trees, which have been featured, along with images of the deer, in ‘Heather Angel’s Countryside’ first published in 1983.

DISCLAIMER: Mike Clarke and Nikon Owner magazine are only taking the initiative of organizing and facilitating this photographic walk on the strict understanding that they are solely acting in an introductory capacity and anyone planning to come on any such outing will be deemed to have agreed that they fully understand and agree to this as a condition of joining the day. The walk can be expected to involve travel by foot. Each participant will be deemed responsible for ensuring his or her own safety at all times and no liability whatsoever is accepted either by Mike Clarke, or Nikon Owner magazine in this regard.
