Following the huge response from the previous highly successful Nikon D-SLR Master Class on Saturday, June 16th, we are delighted to let you know that we are able to repeat this workshop on Saturday, June 30th. Simon Stafford has developed this highly comprehensive practical workshop to help you make the most of your Nikon D-SLR regardless of the camera model you use and irrespective of your level of photographic knowledge and experience.

The workshop, which will be held at Fitzroy House, 37 Fitzroy Street, London W1T 6DX from 2.00 p.m. until 5.30 p.m. on June 30th, has been prepared to help you make a dramatic improvement to your craft of taking photographs by expanding your understanding of how your camera works and by mastering core camera skills through practical application under Simon’s supervision. Simon will discuss the key aspects of the methodology and imaginative vision behind achieving high-quality pictures, sharing his in-depth knowledge and over 30 years of photographic experience, so that you can achieve professional looking photographs consistently (please note attendance of one of Simon’s previous seminars or workshops is not a requirement of this particular workshop).

Prerequisite:

Since this is a practical workshop each delegate should bring a Nikon D-SLR camera and lens or lenses to work with during the event.

Agenda:

  • Digital sensors: learn how they react to light
  • Sensor format: the pros and cons of the Nikon DX and FX formats
  • JPEG versus RAW: what you really need to know
  • Aperture and shutter speed: master these key camera controls
  • ISO sensitivity: learn how to use it effectively
  • TTL Metering: discover how to use it proficiently
  • Exposure: find out how to achieve accurate exposures consistently
  • White balance: understand why it is important
  • Histograms: uncover how to make the most of this valuable tool
  • Focusing: improve your focus techniques with AF and manual focus
  • Depth-of-field: understand this important concept
  • Camera menus: optimize your camera menu settings
  • Camera technique: best practice for camera handling & shooting

The cost of the session will be £155 with a special price of £95 if you are a current Nikon Owner subscriber. To book, please email me only with your full name, Nikon Owner user name/membership number, daytime mobile and landline

  • There are very limited places available, so please reply as soon as you are able to in order to avoid disappointment. If you are not currently a subscriber, you are welcome to join whilst booking the workshop to receive the discount on the session.

Previous attendees’ feedback:

“Plenty to get my teeth into! It is always good to be inspired by a “master of their brief”. I will now play around with new dimensions…white balance, using histogram etc. I look forward to the next workshop” – J.R

“I found the afternoon informative and thought-provoking. The practical demonstrations were an ideal way of making the theory meaningful and therefore likely to be remembered” – C.B

“I would just like to say that I enjoyed the masterclass very much. I now have a much better understanding of digital photography… for me it also reinforced that that I already knew and gave me an insight into those areas I need to explore and develop” – P.S

Travelling to Fitzroy House, 37 Fitzroy Street, London W1T 6DX: the nearest underground station is Warren Street, but please do make sure that it is open – it is occasionally closed on a Saturday – if so, Goodge Street station is a good option.
