With the English summer upon us it is time for the SCG to get out and about…
Our first walk of the season is being organised by SCG regular Joe Davison and is planned for Saturday 2nd July around Dinton Pastures Country Park, south-east of Reading, near to Wokingham, and close to Junction 10 of the M4 (see map below).
Joe will lead us on a circular walk round the Country Park which covers 135 hectares and offers a variety of habitats including 7 lakes, 2 rivers, and meadows. During the walk we will be stopping off at the bird hides situated around the park, and with plenty of birds, insects, and other wildlife, as well as views of the lakes, there should be lots to photograph.
For those travelling by train the nearest station is Winnersh (see map) and is just under a mile from the park.

If you are planning on coming for the walk and eating afterwards please can you reply on the Nikon Owner Message Board no later than Wednesday 22nd June. If there are at least a dozen of us there will be a special £15 2 / 3 course menu available and a room reserved for us, but the landlady needs to know that so a room and menu can be booked. If we don’t have at least a dozen confirmed then we will just have to take ‘pot luck’ on seating, etc, at the pub.
